Campaign of the Month: Cockburn’s

We partnered with Cockburn’s to work on their Christmas campaign for the third year in a row. The aim of the partnership was to bring families and friends together over the festive period, positioning Cockburn’s as the port wine of choice with our print and digital readers.

We worked closely with the client and the editorial team to create branded content features across MailOnline, Weekend and YOU Magazine, ensuring that the client’s playful display leveraged contextually relevant family and food environments.

The campaign was supported by the annual Cockburn’s Christmas competition, prizes included:

  • A chef cooking for you and your family on Christmas day
  • A trip to Porto, the home of Cockburn’s
  • A family trip to Norway for a wintery snow adventure
  • And £1,000 of the best Christmas presents of 2016

The competition was promoted using advertorials, 1/2 page features in Coffee Break, social media posts and CRM emails utilising our extensive database. The competition gained a staggering 45,000 entries, making it one of our most successful to date.

Ad effectiveness research highlighted how well the partnership was received and proved we had achieved our objective of reinforcing Cockburn’s association with family and Christmas.
