With inflation on the up and the looming fear of Brexit, consumers are using events like Black Friday to tactically gift buy.

Originally starting off as a single day, the event of Black Friday is now a weekend long extravaganza that includes Cyber Monday, or for some, a whole week. More than half (56%) of consumer expenditure occurs outside the day itself!

Retailers are winning with the delight of online shopping – it is now a rarity to see battles for bargains in-store as now you can shop on your sofa. 77% of Black Friday purchases are now made online, with mobile taking an impressive 30% slice of the pie.
